How Credits Work on ModyPixl

3 min readUpdated 2026-10-14

Credits are what AI generation runs on. A membership plan gives you a fresh credit allowance every billing period, and members can add top-up packs whenever a big project needs more. Once you are signed in, every generation shows its exact credit cost before you confirm. The design editor and the free browser tools never consume credits.

Membership plans: credits are the price, the plan is the membership

Every plan — Starter, Creator, Blogger, Influencer and Director — runs every template at any quality for its credit cost. What changes between plans is the size of the credit allowance and the perks around it: rollover of unused credits, free sound add-ons, priority in the queue, clean exports and commercial use of what you create (generated music excluded — it stays for use inside your ModyPixl video only). Plans bill weekly, monthly or yearly, and you can cancel at any time; you keep your credits until the period you paid for ends.

A free account comes with welcome credits so you can try image templates and tools. Video generation is for members: a free account cannot spend its welcome credits on a video.

Top-up packs are for members

When a project needs more than your allowance, members can buy a top-up pack. Pack credits stack on top of your plan and stay valid for the billing period you bought them in, so buy them when you need them rather than ahead of time. Packs are not sold on their own — there is no pay-as-you-go without a plan.

Video length changes the price

Every video template has a length ladder: 3, 5, 10, 15, 20 and 30 seconds (HD up to 15 seconds). The 5-second SD render is the base price; longer clips cost more in proportion, and a 3-second clip costs a little less. Lite costs less than SD, HD costs more at every length, and Pro is the top tier for talking videos. The chips on the template page show the live credit price for each length as you choose, and clips of 20 seconds and up show an approximate render time so you know what to expect before you press Generate.

Images, edits and short audio are priced per creation and do not have a length ladder. Multi-stage productions (story videos, trailers, music videos) show one all-in price for the whole production.

Why costs differ between creations

Bigger creations cost more: a quick image or edit costs little, a 5-second video costs more, and a full story video with narration and music costs the most. Optional sound add-ons — a music bed or a voice-over — are shown as separate line items with their own credit cost before you generate, and some yearly plans include a number of them each month.

Failed generations are refunded

Credits are only kept when a result is delivered. Credits are held when you press Generate and released the moment the result arrives; if a generation fails, is blocked by safety screening, or never arrives, the hold is refunded automatically. You pay for results, not attempts.

Where to see prices and balance

Your balance lives in the top bar once you are signed in, every generation screen shows its cost up front, and the pricing page lists the current plans and member top-up packs with your region's prices.

Common questions

Can I buy credits without a plan?

No. Top-up packs are a member perk that stacks on a plan. Pick the smallest plan if you only need an occasional creation — you can cancel at any time.

Do unused credits carry over?

Plan credits roll over on the plans that list rollover as a perk; top-up pack credits are valid for the billing period you bought them in. The pricing page shows exactly what each plan includes.

Can I make a video with the free welcome credits?

No — video generation is for members. Welcome credits are for trying image templates and the AI photo tools.
